Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte said on Thursday the time is now to stand against tyranny.
This after Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go’s said “there is a time for everything” in answer to the mayor’s tirade directed to the former for being silent on the issues against Davao City.
“There is time a time for everything and the time is now to stand against tyranny Mr. Bong Go,” the mayor posted on his Facebook account on Thursday.
In a statement, Go reaffirmed his support for the Dutertes and fellow Dabawenyos. He said there is always a time for everything and this is the time to prioritize the welfare of the Filipinos.
Go issued the statement following Duterte’s expression of disappointment during the recent Hakbang ng Maisug rally in Angeles City, Pampanga, at his silence about the ongoing issues against Davao City.
The mayor also criticized Go for getting selfies in his assistance distribution activities. He urged the senator to read his caption and reflect on what he was doing and what he was saying.
“Sige ra kag selfie nga naay ayuda ginahatag and if not selfie ana akong amahan kay gamiton nimo for publicity. Wala kay imohang ikabarog nga kaugalingong pulitika? Read your own caption and reflect if you are really actually doing what you are saying,” Duterte said.
The mayor capped his caption with the saying “The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality” by Dante Alighieri.
