PRO 11 receive tips, but still no arrest

Despite the big bounty, the police have yet to make strides on the hunt for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) Director Brigadier General Nicholas Torre III bared on Friday that they are working round the clock after receiving tips regarding the whereabouts of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

Torre said they received a lot of information or reports after the reward was announced and the images of Quiboloy and his co-accused were published on different media platforms.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. recently announced a reward worth P10 million for any information that will lead to the arrest of Quiboloy while a P1 million reward each was also offered for the arrest of Quiboloy’s co-accused namely Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, Sylvia Camanes, and Jackiely Roy.

“Sa ngayon ang daming tips na ang nakukuha namin. Meron kaming natanggap na information tungkol kay Pastor Quiboloy and we are working on that round the clock,” Torre said in a press briefing in Manila.

Paulene Canada was arrested at her residence in Emily Homes, Buhangin, Davao City, on Thursday.

Abalos said during the press conference before the arrest of Canada, an unidentified caller tipped PRO 11 about a woman who looks like the photo released by the Philippine National Police (PNP) with a reward of P1 million at Emily Homes, Cabantian, Buhangin.

“Sinabi ng caller na ito ay si Pauline Canada,” Abalos said.

Abalos said announcing the reward is a big help in the development of the case.

“Kaya yun mas lalo akong nanawagan sa ating mga kababayan lalo na sa mga nakakaalam pa rito, may mga kasama pa ho si Pastor, itawag nyo lang at malaking bagay na yan sa kapulisan,” he said.

Abalos added that the Philippines is getting smaller for Quiboloy and other co-accused.

Meanwhile, when asked if the reshuffling of the station commanders of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) helped in the manhunt of the fugitives, Torre said there are many reasons behind the reshuffling.

“Maraming mga rason ang pagpapalit ng station commanders. Basta ang bottom line dito, andito yung results and we dont attribute it to one reason, eh one plus one niyo na lang kung paano ninyo but the bottom line is eto na may pinapakita kami na resulta sa inyo,” Torre said.
