Two newly-installed officer in charge (OIC) City Directors of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) were relieved from the post in a span of ten hours on Wednesday.
Col. Lito Patay, who just assumed office on Wednesday morning as replacement of outgoing OIC City Director Colonel Rolindo Suguilon, received a call from Camp Crame informing him that he is being relieved from his post.
The sudden recall of Patay led to the designation of Colonel Sherwin Butil as the new OIC of the DCPO on Wednesday afternoon.
But on Wednesday night or five hours after Butil was installed as new DCPO chief, the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) confirmed the designation of Colonel Hansel Marantan as the new acting City Director of the DCPO effective July 10, 2024.
This was also confirmed by PRO 11 Public Information Office chief Major Catherine Dela Rey.
Dela Rey said Patay will be assigned as Chief of the Regional Operations Division of PRO 11 but did not give information on Butil’s new assignment.
She also said that Butil’s previous post as Chief of the Regional Information and Communications Technology Management Division will be given to former DCPO chief Col. Alberto C. Lupaz, who was previously the Chief of the Regional Operations Division, his assignment after his stint as DCPO City Director in March 2024.
On Tuesday, PRO 11 has assigned new station commanders to replace the 19 station chiefs under the DCPO who were relieved on Monday.
Through Special Orders Number PRO11-SO-RO-2024-2277 issued in PRO 11, the new station commanders are the following: Major Richeen Lagnayo – Sta Ana Police Station; Major Emmanuel Manlatican – San Pedro Police Station; Major Genesis Oriel – Talomo Police Station; Major Marcille Manzano – Sasa Police Station; Captain Pio Torrecampo – Buhangin Police Station; Major Ian James Acal – Bunawan Police Station; Major Janus Lumbaya Macli-ing – Paquibato Police Station; Major Sheryl Bautista – Toril Police Station; Major Vincent Ignacio Follante – Tugbok Police Station; Major Leo Arvin Alce – Calinan Police Station; Major Lesandro Bernardo – Baguio Police Station; Major Renante Aritalia – Marilog Police Station; Major Rejie Torrita – Mandug Police Station; Major Butch Kevin Rapiz – Ecoland Police Station; Major Elfren Barredo – Maa Police Station; Major Jethro Joy Salanap – Bajada Police Station; Major Leif Quililan – Catigan Police Station; and Major Lisandro Bernado – Los Amigos Police Station.
