NBI-Davao warns foreigner vs wearing of NBI uniform

National Bureau of Investigation-Davao (NBI-Davao) Director Arcelito Albao told a male Lebanese national to stop wearing NBI uniform, especially in Davao City.

This developed after some of the Davao media practitioners and netizens were alarmed and expressed concerns when a male Lebanese national wearing a shirt and cap bearing NBI logos was spotted during the send-off ceremony of the safety and security forces for the 39th Kadayawan sa Davao Festival held at the compound of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lebanese was also seen talking to DCPO acting Director Col. Hansel Marantan.

Albao said the Lebanese told him he just wanted to help at the send-off ceremony.

“Akoa siya gi-istorya ganiha, ingon niya gusto ra daw siya mutabang sa send off ceremony sa Kadayawan kung unsa iyaha matabang,” he said.

EB Jugalbot, a vlogger, even posted some questions on his Facebook account upon seeing the photos of the Lebanese on social media as why is the Caucasian wearing an NBI uniform, which by law, must and should only be worn by authorized Filipino agents of the law. He also asked what is the Lebanese national’s purpose in Davao City.
