Toril police files raps vs lady rider for violating road closure regulations

The Toril Police Station on Monday filed charges against a female individual before the Office of the City Prosecutor in Davao City for breaching security measures on road closure regulations and entering the lane closed down for the Davao Ironman 70.3 Triathlon.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon said 28 years old Kriszelle Ann Maton Cabo will be facing charges for violating Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code or the resistance or disobedience to a person in authority or the agents of such person, violating Republic Act (RA) 4136 or Land Transportation and Traffic Code, and RA 10054 or the Motorcycle Helmet Law.

Based on the report of Toril Police Station, Cabo, wearing a two-piece yoga outfit, forced her way into the triathlete-only bike lane at the GTH Crossing in Toril and counter-flowed on the bike course in Ironman 70.3.

According to the police, Cabo did not stop and even accelerated her driven motorcycle towards southbound (Davao del Sur) when she was flagged and chased by the police.

From Toril, the motorcycle that Cabo was driving was flagged down by the police in Darong, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, and turned her over to Toril Police Station.

Cabo also did not wear a helmet and was using a cell phone while driving a motorcycle and went live on her Facebook.

She also failed to show her driver’s license and a copy of the official receipt and certificate of registration (OR/CR) of her motorcycle when she was arrested by the police.

Based on the video circulating online, Cabo was laughing while going live on Facebook.

Meanwhile, DCPO reported that the holding of the Ironman 70.3 race was peaceful and orderly with no untoward incident happening/reported.
