CEE reminds vendors: Only with special permits will be allowed to sell during Undas

Davao City Economic Enterprise (CEE) head Maximo Macalipes Jr. reiterated that only vendors with special permits from the Business Bureau of City Mayor’s Office are allowed to sell during Undas 2024.

Macalipes said the CEE has proposed 287 slots in public cemeteries and 99 slots in private cemeteries for concessionaires starting October 30 to November 3. Currently, there are 10 public and 14 private cemeteries in the city.

“Ang mga vendors lang nga naay special permits gikan sa City Mayor pinaagi sa Business Bureau ang tugutan nga maka pamaligya gikan Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 sulod man o gawas sa semeteryo,” Macalipes said on Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR).

Macalipes emphasized that all vendors must obtain a health certificate or sanitary permit from the City Health Office (CHO) before they could start selling to ensure the safety of the public.

The CEE also set guidelines for the concessionaires to follow during All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

Vendors are not allowed to sell food with barbecue sticks/skewers, liquor and other intoxicating beverages, cooking food and customer dining on the sidewalk is also prohibited to prevent pedestrian obstruction.

Used clothing or “ukay ukay” is banned for sale, and sharp objects such as knives, cutters, and scissors are also forbidden.

Macalipes said the guidelines were approved by the Davao City Cemetery Management Board.

“Nahisgutan na nato sa cemetery board ang guidelines para sa Kalag Kalag 2024 hilabi na sa katong mubisita sa atong mga public cemeteries pati na sa private cemeteries apil na ang mga mamaligya sa mga cemeteries,” he said.
