PRO 11 Chief vows to follow rule of law against illegal drugs campaign

New Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 acting Director Brigadier General Victor Rosete vowed that under his leadership, the rule of law will be observed in the fight against illegal drugs in the Davao Region.

“We will follow the rule of law, respect human rights and due process must be observed. Gumagana ang ating rule of law and let the wheels of justice roll. Kung may mamatay, we will investigate because that is the process of the law and it is in the police operational procedures of the PNP and if a crime was committed, then we will investigate and if during the course of our investigation, and find out that a crime was committed, we will file the appropriate cases, basta we will follow the rule of law,” Rosete told the media.

Meanwhile, Rosete lauded the efforts and dedication of PRO 11 personnel in combating illegal drugs and giving priority to apprehending identified High-Value Individuals (HVIs).

On October 10, 2024, police personnel under PRO 11 arrested regional HIVs in joint buy-bust operations in Digos City.

Alias “Armand,” regional target No. 5 and categorized as HVI, and alias “Inday” categorized as Street Level Individual (SLI), were arrested in a joint anti-illegal drugs operation conducted in Purok Bayanihan, Brgy. San Miguel, Digos City.

During the operation, police confiscated suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P35,496.

On the same day, alias “Babo”, a regional target level No. 6 HVI was also arrested in a joint drug buy-bust operation conducted in Purok Jacosalem, Brgy. San Jose, Digos City.

The police confiscated pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P19,720 and other non-drug items during the conduct of the operation.

The suspects are now under the custody of Digos City Police Station (CPS) for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges while the seized drug items are brought to Regional Forensic Unit 11 (RFU 11) for laboratory and drug test examination.
