Vice Mayor Atty. J. Melchor Quitain Jr. said it is not surprising that the city government of Davao is receiving numerous accolades as every department is led by dedicated and hardworking people.

This developed after the city government of Davao was recognized by the Department of Finance – Bureau of Local Government Finance (DOF-BLGF) as one of the National Top Performing Cities in Local Source Revenues (LSR) for FYs 2022 and 2023.

“It is not surprising for Davao to receive such numerous awards and accolades. We all know that every department or office in the city is manned by dedicated and hardworking people. It has been like this as far as I can remember. The city’s leadership has always stressed that public service not politics should always be the top and only priority,” Quitain told Edge Davao.

The remarkable achievements of Davao City are as follows: ranked 8th (national) for the FY 2023 Top-Performing City in Local Source Revenues; and ranked 7th (national) for the FY 2022 Top-Performing City in Local Source Revenues.

Davao City also leads among all cities outside the National Capital Region (NCR).

In Region 11, Davao City continues to win first place on the Ratio of Local Source Revenues to Total Current Operating Income (FY 2023); first place on the Local Source Revenues (FY 2023); and first place on the Yearly Growth of Local Source Revenues (FY 2023).

According to the city government of Davao, these recognitions highlight Davao City’s unwavering commitment to fiscal excellence and sustainable growth.
