Marcos admin spent 3 years making issues against vice president: Baste

Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte hit President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. anew saying the President and his administration spent the first three years of his presidency making up issues against Vice President Sara Duterte.

“Kaning administrasyon ni Marcos giconsume ang 3 ka tuig nga nagsige lang sila ug himo ug isyu sa ilahang contender karong 2028, which is the vice president and the people turned their attention to it while gimaniobra nila ang kuwarta sa mga Pilipino,” Duterte said in his podcast “Basta Dabawenyo” on Sunday.

The mayor added that Marcos did nothing but grooming himself to surpass former president Rodrigo Duterte. He cited the example of the Duterte administration’s Build, Build, Build Program wherein Marcos established the Build Better More Program.

“Kintahay low kaayo ang crime rate sauna, mas mubo gyud ilaha. Ang approval rating sa presidente sauna taas, mas taas gyud iyaha. Mao ra na iyang gibuhat for three years in this country sa tinuod lang. Kung nakapahimo ug tulay ang previous administration why not build a longer bridge? Kung nakapasemento ang previous administration ug taas kaayo nga dalan, why not magpasemento ka ug imoha. Apan wala and you know why? Because all of the money went to social services for them gamiton nila as indirect vote buying karong election. Mao na walay infrastructure ang Pilipinas karon,” the mayor said.

Duterte stressed that the Marcos administration is spending their term comparing themselves to the administration of the former president.

“For what? You can do your own thing, you have all the money and resources of the government to prove yourself and yet sige lang ka ug PR nga mas kuyaw ka. Kung nagtrabaho pa o girespeto na unta mo sa mga tawo kung tinuod ba mo nga nagtrabaho gyud,” he said.

The mayor said because they were busy making issues against the vice president, they did not realize that Davao City Third District Representative Isidro Ungab discovered the alleged anomalous 2025 General Appropriation Act (GAA).

“Mao na karon nga nalutsan sila wala sila kabantay nga gatan-aw diay si Cong. Sid Ungab di nagka problema mo sa inyuhang budget na inyong gipasa,” Duterte said.

Ungab stated that the 2025 national budget was anomalous as the Bicameral Committee Report on the GAA had missing and blank items.

On Monday, the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) requested to the Supreme Court (SC) for a five-day extension to comment on a petition questioning the legality of the 2025 GAA.

Lawyer Victor D. Rodriguez, former executive secretary of Marcos and others filed a Petition for Certiorari and Prohibition over the 2025 national budget, and Solicitor-General Menardo Guevarra requested an extension to comment on it in a document dated February 19.
