The City of Mati Local Government Unit (LGU) received high praise and multiple accolades at the PaNaTa Ko sa Bayan Awards hosted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 11 on Thursday. The awards recognize exceptional contributions to public service and social welfare initiatives across the region.
In a moving message during the ceremony, Mayor Michelle N. Rabat accepted the awards on behalf of the people of Mati, highlighting the core values that guide the city’s commitment to public service.
“The pandemic reminded us of what truly matters—it’s not the material things, but life, love, and service to others,” Mayor Rabat said. “These recognitions are not just for our city; they reflect who we are as a people—Pilipino na nagmamahal sa kapwa Pilipino.”
Mati City’s strong showing at the event affirms its dedication to inclusive governance, social protection, and community-driven programs. Mayor Rabat credited the city’s achievements to a culture of service anchored in compassion and integrity.
“We serve with care, with dignity, and with integrity,” she added. “To the DSWD, to our angels in red, and to every partner in this journey—daghang salamat.”

Gawad Serbisyong Mapagkalinga – 1st Place
Gawad Serbisyong Masigasig – 1st Place (City Level)

Youth – 1st Place
Senior Citizen – 1st Place
Children – 1st Place
Family and Community – 2nd Place

The PaNaTa Ko sa Bayan Awards (Pagkilala sa Natatanging Kontribusyon sa Bayan) are given annually by the DSWD to honor individuals, organizations, and local government units that exemplify excellence, compassion, and innovation in the field of public service.
These recognitions mark yet another milestone in Mati City’s journey under Mayor Rabat’s leadership, underscoring its unwavering commitment to responsive governance and people-centered development.
