Davao chamber assures Davao City’s economy remains robust

The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc (DCCCII) assured local and international stakeholders that Davao City’s economic climate remains robust, stable, and resilient despite the current political noise.

The feud between the Marcos administration and the Duterte family escalated and can now be felt in Davao City as various protests and rallies are being staged across the country calling for the release of former President Rodrigo Duterte who is currently detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.

DCCCII vowed to remain focused on fostering a conducive business environment, ensuring that economic activities continue to flourish without disruption.

“We stand firm in our commitment to collaborate with both public and private entities, ensuring that Davao City remains a thriving economic powerhouse that welcomes investments, drives innovation, and expands opportunities for businesses of all sizes,” the chamber said in a statement.

DCCCII is firmed on engaging with key stakeholders in developing a business-friendly ecosystem that encourages innovation, investment, and job creation—ensuring that local enterprises and international partners alike benefit from Davao’s expanding economic landscape.

The group stated that this sustained economic success is a direct result of the combined efforts of the public and private sectors, reinforcing Davao City’s position as a key hub for commerce, trade, and investment in Mindanao.

“DCCCII remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring a stable, thriving business environment in Davao City, and the enhancement of the quality of life for its people,” it said.

DCCCII underscored that upholding the rule of law and fostering a stable and thriving business environment in Davao City remains to be at the core of the existence of DCCCIl as the leading voice of the business community.

“We actively work towards strengthening collaborations between the government and the private sector in sustaining the city’s economic growth, resilience, and investment potential,” it said.

Moving forward, DCCCII committed to expanding the international reach by strengthening partnerships with diplomatic agencies and global business leaders.

“Through these collaborative initiatives, we aim to enhance bilateral trade, cross-border investments, and economic exchange programs that will contribute to the long-term prosperity of Davao City and the entire region. Davao City remains safe, business-friendly, and open for investment,” the chamber said.

The DCCCII is a premier business membership organization for the past 57 years.
