Personnel from the Department of Transportation (DoTr) led by Engr. Irus John Matias on Friday met with the representatives from the Provincial Goverment of Cotabato to present the detailed engineering design of the new passenger terminal of the Central Mindanao Airport (CIA) in the municipality of M’lang, Cotabato Province.
Discussed during the meeting were the building and other facilities as well as the corresponding data and information to be used in the site development of the airport.
Provincial Administrator Aurora Garcia said during the meeting, the DoTr team mentioned updating of the Master Development Plan, which is a detailed and comprehensive plan that aims to guide the next steps specially in the implementation of the infrastructure to be built and other aspects of the project that respond to current needs.
Cotabato Province Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza believed that with the continued unity of various government agencies and the support of Third District Representative Ma. Alana Samantha T. Santos as well as the help of the Marcos administration, together with Speaker Martin Romualdez, the airport will be realized.
“I also thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and House Speaker Martin Romualdez for their support in completing the CMA,” Mendoza said.
Mendoza said when fully operational, the airport will open up a huge opportunity in the province, specially in the fields of tourism, economy, agriculture, and commerce.
