Supporters of the Duterte family vowed on Thursday to keep watch on the residence of former President Rodrigo Duterte at Doña Luisa Subdivision in Matina, Davao City 24/7 amid unverified reports that the police will conduct a raid Thursday evening.
Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) spokesperson Major Catherine dela Rey denied the claim saying the presence of police in the area is to provide security and for police visibility.
“Kung naa pulis mag post is for security or police visibility,” dela Rey said.
Maranao deputy mayor Randy Usman vowed they will be outside Duterte’s residence to guard round-the-clock.
“Kung gusto sa mga abogado nga kinahanglan pa nila ug tao, magdungag ta ug tao diri sa balay ni Duterte para mag vigil dahil baka taniman ng bala,” Usman said in an interview.
Lawyers gathered outside the Duterte’s home following the rumored police raid.
The neighbors of Duterte also offered prayers for the former president and his family in front of his home.
The group vows to be on alert and continues to monitor the situation.
According to a text message circulating online, the raid will happen early in the morning just like what happened during the seige of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) in September last year.
Meanwhile, Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte revealed that he is probably the next target of the Marcos administration.
The mayor arrived at their home at 10:26 p.m. after his flight from Manila. He immediately meet the supporters gathered outside the former president’s residence.
“Probably ako nay sunod or kinsa man sa amoa kay tungod mga anak mi niya. Kung unsa man ni dawaton namo ni. Kaya man namo muatubang kay kahibaw man mi, ako bisan gani karon wa koy sala nila, wa koy sala bisan kang kinsa. Naa man gihapo’y Ginoo,” the mayor said in an interview.
The mayor said all they want is to work and serve the people.
“Kami manarbaho lang gyud mi, sukad na vice mayor ko, naningkamot ra gyud intawon ko nga makapanerbisyo,” he said.
The mayor expressed his gratitude to those who came.
“Sa mga nanganhi diri salamat kaayo. Dako kaayo butang sa among pamilya kay nia mo karon. Sobra sobra na inyong gipakita ug gusto nako makapahuway mo ug manguli mo.Mabuhay mong tanan Dabawenyo,” the mayor said.
The mayor said he went to Manila to apply for a visa to the Netherlands as he intend to visit his father.
