Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) spokesperson Major Catherine dela Rey denies that there’s an unusual number of police personnel deployed at the Davao International Airport (DIA) on Tuesday.
“Negative po. Regular deployment lang po ng RMFB 11 sa entrance ng airport,” dela Rey said.
This developed after a DDS vlogger, Joie De Vivre, posted online that 40 policemen had gathered at DIA allegedly to arrest Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte.
“Eto ang dapat tayong maging vigilant: 40 policemen assemble in Davao City Airport to arrest Baste sabi ng tutubing kalabaw,” she posted on Tuesday.
As of this writing, the mayor has yet to issue a statement about the matter.
On Sunday, in his speech during the 88th Araw ng Dabaw’s Parada Dabawenyo, the mayor uttered harsh words against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in relation to the arrest of his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
“I want to take this opportunity to tell Mr. Marcos how I feel about him. Mr. President Marcos, you will never be loved especially to us who are calling out Rody Duterte’s name. You will never be loved Mr. Marcos. We will stand up and we will fight back!” the mayor said.
The mayor emphasized that what the President has now is only the government resources and his term.
“Gusto nako ingnon kay Bongbong Marcos, aside that you’re not being loved by the people, all you have is the government’s resources and your term. Beyond that, you are nothing!” he said.
