Duterte siblings Vice President Sara and Davao City First District Representative Paolo flew on Wednesday to the Netherlands to support their father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, who was flown late Tuesday to The Hague following his arrest.
The vice president departed from Manila, on Wednesday morning, March 12, 2025, at around 7:40 a.m. via Emirates flight No. EK 337 bound for Amsterdam.
Rep. Duterte left at 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday via Cathay Pacific from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
The lawmaker asked for travel clearance to travel to The Netherlands and Japan from March 12 to April 15, 2025, which was confirmed and approved by House Secretary General Reginald Velasco.
The lawmaker’s letter addressed to House Speaker Martin Romualdez requested the issuance of a revised Travel Clearance for his trip to the Netherlands and Japan from March 12 to 15, 2025.
Rep. Duterte also assured that expenditures incurred from his trip are from his personal funds.
The Gulfstream G550 (RPC5219), the chartered plane carrying the former president took off at 10:51 on Tuesday evening at NAIA to The Hague, Netherlands where he is set to face trial before the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges of crimes against humanity.
On Tuesday evening, the vice president confirmed to the media that she will fly to The Hague, Netherlands, together with the legal team of her father.
“Yes, mayroon na pong arrangements kasi kailangan ko kausapin yung mga abogado doon kung saan man siya dalhin. Pupunta kami…ako at pupunta yung mga abogado and doon kami mag-uusap kung ano yung mga gagawin,” she said.
Meanwhile, according to online flight tracker Flightradar24, the planes carrying the former president and the vice president are the most tracked flights.
Netizens started tracking the plane carrying the former president since it took off from NAIA. It arrived at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai at around 8:03 a.m. (Manila time) on Wednesday, March 12.
The former president is expected to arrive in Rotterdam, Netherlands at 5:52 p.m. of Wednesday (12:52 a.m. of Thursday Manila Time).
The flight hours from Manila to The Hague may reach up to 14 hours.
