A 51-year-old male school teacher sustained multiple gunshot wounds in a broad daylight shooting in Davao City on Thursday morning.
Based on the investigation, the victim just came from a seminar hosted by the Commission on Elections 11 (COMELEC 11) at World Palace Hotel on Acacia Street, Juna Subdivision, Davao City and was driving home to attend a barangay hearing on an alleged estafa complaint in Brgy. Ma-a.
While the victim was traversing alone along Acacia Street on a metallic silver Nissan Terra SUV, a Yamaha NMAX scooter with unidentified plate number blocked his path and a silver-gray Toyota Innova with plate number NEN 5272 overtook his vehicle then fired multiple shots using a .45 caliber pistol.
The victim was able to drive off to the Central 911 headquarters on Daang Patnubay Street, Ecoland, to ask for help while the suspects quickly fled towards Ateneo de Davao High School then to Ma-a area.
The victim, who is a resident of Pearl corner Garnet Streets in Gem Village, Ma-a, Davao City, sustained gunshot wounds on his back. He was immediately brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) and now in stable condition.
According to authorities, the identity of the suspects are still unknown and a hot pursuit operation is being conducted.
