Three police officers from the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office (DOPPO) tested positive for illegal drug use during a random drug test conducted on Thursday.
According to Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11), the officers are now facing administrative proceedings in accordance with Philippine National Police (PNP) regulations.
Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete, Director of PRO 11, highlighted that these random drug tests are part of their ongoing commitment to maintaining a disciplined and drug-free police force.
“This serves as a crucial reminder that internal cleansing is a shared responsibility. Our mission is not just to identify violations, but to guide our personnel toward the right path. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of service while supporting the personal and professional growth of our team,” said Rosete.
PRO 11 remains steadfast in its dedication to professionalism, integrity, and accountability, aligning with the PNP’s core mission to serve and protect the community.
Recently, a similar case was reported involving a police officer from New Bataan, Davao de Oro, who also tested positive for drug use during a random drug test. The officer is undergoing due process under the PNP’s internal disciplinary system.
PRO 11 stressed its unwavering stance on keeping the organization free from illegal drugs. “Our random drug tests are crucial to ensuring our personnel can serve the public with the honesty and integrity they deserve,” the office emphasized.
