Bato warns owner of jet that flew FPRRD to The Hague will be accountable to Trump

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa warned on Thursday that the owner of the Gulfstream G550 jet with tail number RP-C5219 which transported former President Rodrigo Duterte to The Hague, Netherlands will be accountable to US President Donald Trump.

Dela Rosa cited the executive order signed by Trump in February 2025, which imposes sanctions on any non-American individual or organization that directly cooperates with the International Criminal Court (ICC) in detaining a “protected person.”

The EO stated that protected persons under the order include US nationals, US military personnel, and citizens of US NATO allies and “major non-NATO allies.”

It also emphasized that countries designated as major non-NATO allies include the Philippines, Israel, and others.

“Siguro naman it is the moral obligation of this committee also to share our findings of this committee to President Donald Trump. Para kung sino man ang may-ari nitong Gulf Stream na to na eroplano, ay kung may mga ari-arian ito sa America, eh covered siya sa executive order na pinirmahan ni President Trump. Kung sino man ang may ari ng eroplano na yan, mananagot siya kay President Trump,” dela Rosa said during the second hearing of the Senate foreign relations committee’s investigation into Duterte’s arrest led by Senator Imee Marcos.

Dela Rosa suggested that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee send its findings to Trump to freeze the assets of the owner of the Gulfstream G550.

It can be recalled that in February this year, Trump imposed economic and travel sanctions targeting people who work on ICC investigations of U.S. citizens or U.S. allies.

Meanwhile, Dela Rosa also urged the Senate to issue subpoenas to Cabinet officials for failing to attend the second hearing.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Cabinet secretaries, and other pertinent officials, who were invited to the hearing as resource persons failed to attend the second hearing.

“I would like to move that we issue a subpoena to these government officials to require their presence in the next hearing. Kung mayroon pang gaganaping hearing, dapat may subpoena ito sila para magkaalaman. Karuhin natin ito. Not interfering with officials in Senate hearing, a direct violation of our government’s check and balance,” Dela Rosa said.
