Davao City Council backs JCI Philippines’ JCI Week Events

The Davao City Council passed a resolution on Tuesday expressing its support for the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines’ activities in celebration of JCI Week. These events will be held simultaneously across all JCI chapters nationwide from April 6 to 12, 2025.

Councilor Lorenzo Benjamin Villafuerte, Chair of the Committee on Civil, Political, and Human Rights, proposed the resolution, emphasizing that JCI Week is an annual event where all local JCI chapters unite to celebrate camaraderie and impactful community initiatives.

“This year’s celebration will carry the theme ‘Build Better Together,’” Villafuerte announced.

In his privilege speech, Villafuerte highlighted the purpose of JCI Philippines, stating, “Junior Chamber International Philippines, also known as JCI Philippines, is a national organization dedicated to professional development, economic opportunities, and innovative solutions to address societal challenges.”

JCI Davao’s planned activities for JCI Week include a Fun Walk on April 6, a jobs fair on April 8, a blood donation drive on April 9, a night bazaar from April 9 to 11, and a culminating event on April 12, among others.

Villafuerte commended JCI for its efforts, expressing confidence that these initiatives would bring significant benefits to the Dabawenyos, particularly those in need.

“Especially those in need,” he reiterated.
