The manager of Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) said on Monday that the Holy Week is among the occasions wherein they intensify the safety measures inside the terminal due to the in flux of passengers.
DCOTT manager Aisa Usop said security protocols inside DCOTT have already been strengthened following the installation of three new high-tech baggage x-ray machines for enhanced baggage screening and 32 CCTV cameras to oversee activities in the terminal.
“First, happy kaayo ko kay naay bag-o naabot na baggage x-ray machine na dako. Makakaya na ug 200 kilograms unya lapad pud siya. Buot pasabot puwede isulod ang bundle sama sa ukay-ukay. Ang nakanindot kay high tech pud siya. Aside sa baggage x-ray machine naa pud ta’y walk through machine, buot ipasabot tulo na ang akong baggage x-ray machine,” Usop said over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR).
Usop said they are also enhancing its security and operational strategies to guarantee a secure and seamless experience for travelers by coordinating with Task Force Davao and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“Atoa na pud gimiting ang atoang mga security guards together with the team leaders from Task Force Davao, kapulisan, kay dili lang ang security measures ang atong ginabantayan kay basin mukalit na pud ug dagsa ang mga pickpockets,” Usop said.
Usop added that a “No Pick-up Policy” will be implemented outside the terminal and advised passengers to board only at the DCOTT.
She announced that Gate 7 would be opened for senior citizens, pregnant women, mothers, and those passengers not carrying pieces of baggage.
