The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) clarified on Wednesday that there is no “ligis-bayad” modus operating in Davao City.
This unfolded after a man was caught on video crawling under a vehicle while it was stopped in traffic and let the vehicle run him over in Buhangin, Davao City on Monday evening.
DCPO spokesperson Capt. Hazel Tuazon said that based on the investigation of the Buhangin Police Station, the man who was ran over by a vehicle is mentally challenged.
Naa siya’y tambal na ginainum and nagrequest pod ta kung naay record from a doctor,” Tuazon said during the Davao City Peace and Security Press Corps media briefing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel.
Tuazon said the police requested a psychiatric examination result from the family and while waiting for the result, the Buhagin Police Station also conducted its investigation.
Tuazon confirmed that the involved individual is now in stable condition.
