Thousands of Muslims on Monday morning gathered for a morning prayer on Roxas Avenue in Davao City to mark the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan and to celebrate the holiday of Eid’l Fitr.

On Sunday evening, the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) pronounced that the moon’s crescent was sighted.

This result has been properly conducted by the official Moon Sighting Team, who had been gathered to agreed-upon strategic locations and has been proactively led by the Bangsamoro Mufti, Sheikh Abdulrauf A. Guialani.

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported that the celebration of Eid in the city was generally peaceful.

DCPO said at least 4,000 Muslims participated in the centralized Eid’l Fitr 2025, which opened with a program early morning and was attended by various nationalities including Arabians, Indians, and Indonesians.

Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte greeted the Muslim community on the celebration of Eid’l Fitr.

The vice president said this important day is not only a reminder of Allah’s goodness but also of the important teachings of the Holy Quran—unity and sharing of blessings with family and most of all with those in need.

“Hangad namin na ang Eid ay magdala ng kapayapaan sa inyong mga puso, liwanag sa inyong diwa, at walang hanggang kasiyahan sa inyong tahanan. Nawa’y tanggapin ang inyong mga panalangin, gantimpalaan ang inyong mga sakripisyo, at pagpalain ang inyong buhay ng pag-ibig at kasaganaan,” she said.
