
Vice President Sara Duterte’s performance rating and outlook for the 2028 Presidential Elections appear positive, despite the issues surrounding her family and the political squabble with the administration, according to a WR Numero Research Poll conducted from March 31 to April 7.
The vice president received a 50% approval rating from respondents in the survey, a 9% increase from WR Numero’s February survey of 41%. An additional 29% of participants were uncertain, and merely 21% expressed disapproval of her performance.
Meanwhile, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s performance rating for the same period was 29%, down from 30% in February and among the respondents, 42% did not approve of his performance, whereas 29% remained uncertain.
On the other hand, 39% of the respondents also supported the Senate’s delay of the vice president’s impeachment trial until July 2025, whereas 34% opposed it and 27.3% were uncertain.
The survey emphasized that 90.3% expressed that they want Duterte to undergo her impeachment trial, whereas merely 9.7% indicated she should step down before the trial.
It showed that a lightly over half, 50.3%, expressed that senator judges ought to base their votes on the evidence, 31.6% believed they should consider public opinion, 6.7% felt they should follow their conscience, 6.2% thought they should vote based on political loyalties, and 5.2% stated they should vote according to political beliefs.
The survey underscored that Duterte also topped the 2028 Presidential Poll with 30.2%, while Senator Raffy Tulfo was in second with 17.9%, and 17.5% remained undecided.
