The Davao City Agriculturist Office (CAgrO) remains steadfast in its efforts to support women’s livelihood by Livelihood Trainings in the barangays.
Antonio Obsioma, CAgrO’s Officer-in-Charge, said the initiative aims to equip women with entrepreneurial skills that will help them manage household expenses while opening opportunities to generate additional income.
He said one of the latest training sessions took place in Sitio Salome, Barangay Saloy in Calinan District, where participants, particularly women, were taught how to create essential household products, including liquid dishwashing soap, fabric conditioner, and detergent soap.
“We recognize the importance of women through RIC. Kasi kapag nag-engage sila sa mga entrepreneurial activities makakatulong [ito] sa kanila [and] their families (We recognize the importance of women through RIC. Because when they engage in entrepreneurial activities, [it] will help them a lot and their families),” he said.
Women interested in participating in the training must first be part of an organized group before visiting the district offices of CAgrO to submit a request for the program. For more information Dabawenyos may also contact (082) 221 5056 or via email agribizcagro@gmail.com. CIO
