The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) released the calendar of activities for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) slated on December 1, 2025.
The schedule is under Comelec Resolution Number 11132 signed by Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia and other Commissioners.
Based on Resolution No. 11132, the Comelec prescribed the following calendar of activities and period of prohibited acts in connection with the 2025 BSKE: July 1 to 11 – applications for registration for voters for the BSKE; October 1 to 7 – filing of Certificate of Candidacy (CoC); October 27 to 31 – election period; November 20 to 29 – campaign period; and December 1 – election day.
Comelec announced that the casting of votes starts at 7 a.m. and until 3 p.m. and the counting and canvassing of votes and proclamation of winning candidates immediately after the closing of polls.
The resolution states that from the period of July to August 2025, which includes the updating of registration records, filing of applications for registration of voters for the barangay elections, and membership to the Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK);
During the election period, Comelec prohibits the bearing, carrying, or transporting of firearms or other deadly weapons in public places including any building, street, park, private vehicle, or public conveyance.
On the eve of election day, Comelec stated that selling, furnishing, offering, buying, serving, or taking intoxicating liquor is not allowed.
Comelec cited Article 5 of the resolution that provides for parameters on the setting periods of certain pre-election and prohibited activities for the 2023 BSKEs and all succeeding BSKEs, hence, there is a need to provide a specific period of the same in connection with the 2025 BSKE.
The Commission En Banc promulgated Comelec Resolution No. 10924, otherwise known as the “General Guidelines and other Related Rules and Regulations for the October 30, 2023, BSKE and all succeeding BSKEs. Thereafter” on June 7, 2023.
