Davao ICON, DATE 2025 to highlight Davao’s impact on trade, agribusiness

The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) recently launched its flagship back-to-back events, the 8th Davao Investment Conference (Davao ICON) and the 27th Davao Agri-Trade Expo (DATE), highlighting Davao’s expanding impact in business, trade, and agribusiness.

Carrying the theme “Beyond Borders: Navigating the New Frontier”, the events aim to tap the region’s immense potential and forge new cross-border collaboration in agriculture and beyond borders such as connecting farmers to market with innovation and transforming local practices into global solutions.

“This year’s theme encourages us to look through Davao and see the broader horizon. It challenges us to break old boundaries and seize opportunities that await,” said Jennifer Ellen Dumlao, chairperson for Davao ICON 2025, during Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Davao.

Dumlao announced that the two events, which are slated at SM Lanang Premier’s SMX Convention Center on September 17 to 21, 2025, will gather a total of 180 exhibitors and around 350 delegates.

Dumlao added that the events are expected to attract 5,000-foot traffic for the trade exhibits.

She also said that for this year, the focus industries will be trade and tourism, manufacturing, real estate, and infrastructure, agriculture as well as information and technology.

Dumlao said during the DATE, the trade exhibits will be complemented by simultaneous business matching sessions, technical seminars, and hands-on workshops, and capping off the event, we will be celebrating the Agri Fiesta, a showcase of Davao’s rich agricultural heritage and culture bringing together learning opportunities and festivity in fiesta spirit.

Meanwhile, the Davao ICON will present topics about the trend opportunities and challenges in the investment landscape not just within the Davao Region but beyond the region.

Dumlao said the focus will be more on how to connect with the region’s neighboring cities, municipalities, and provinces in trade and investment.

“We also want to extend the reach of this conference to our BIMP EAGA country neighbors and tap them into the collaborative potential of the Philippines, Mindanao in particular to the ASEAN,” she said.

The event highlights are as follows: golf tournament on September 17, opening ceremony, investment conference, and more on September 18 to 19, trade exhibit on September 18 to 20, and industry site tours on September 20 to 21.
