Benjamin “Bong” Duterte, the youngest sibling of former President and Davao City Mayor-elect Rodrigo Duterte, addressed supporters and the media in The Hague, Netherlands, sharing that the former president is pleased with the outcome of the recently concluded 2025 national and local midterm elections held on May 12.
Bong arrived in The Hague on May 14 and visited his older brother at the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention facility.
According to the former President’s brother, he conveyed the Dutertes’ overwhelming victory in Davao City.
He stated that upon hearing this, the former president smiled.
FPRRD was officially proclaimed mayor of Davao City, securing a landslide victory with 662,630 votes against his opponent, Karlo Nograles, who garnered only 80,852 votes.
The former president’s son, incumbent Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, won the vice mayoral race with 651,356 votes, defeating Bernie Al-ag, who received 78,893 votes.
In the congressional races, Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte was re-elected with 203,557 votes, defeating Migs Nograles, who received 49,186 votes.
In the Second Congressional District, Omar Vincent Duterte, the Punong Barangay of Buhangin, secured victory with 160,432 votes, toppling Javi Garcia, who managed only 90,156 votes.
Rodrigo “Rigo” II, FPRRD’s grandson and namesake, ranked first in the council race for Davao City’s First District.
Bong also stated that FPRRD was in high spirits following the election results.
“I told him there were twists in the senatorial race, but overall, I reassured him not to worry because I believe the support remains with Vice President Sara. I also shared with FPRRD that all those who opposed him during the quadcom faced defeat,” Bong remarked.
Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, the former president’s longtime personal aide, topped the senatorial race with over 26 million votes.
He added that FPRRD remains deeply grateful for the unwavering love and support shown to him and his family.
“From the bottom of his heart, he sincerely thanks everyone who continues to support him—not just those here at the park (The Hague), but worldwide,” the Senator said.
