The regional offices of the Police Regional Office (PRO 11) and the Department of Education (DepEd 11) confirmed on Friday that they are now 100 percent ready for the upcoming national and local midterm elections on May 12.
“Ang PRO 11 is 100% ready na for the May 12 national and local elections. In fact, ang amoang mga police sa mga nagkadaiyang polling centers kay dili nila biyaan ang Automatic Counting Machines (ACMs),” said Major Catherine dela Rey, spokesperson of PRO 11 during Kapihan sa PIA at NCCC-Victoria Plaza.
Dela Rey added that PRO 11’s deployment for the escort and convoy security for the ballots on May 11 is also ready.
PRO 11 has recently held a send-off ceremony for over 12,000 security personnel, including police, military, Coast Guard, and fire officers, to secure the 2025 elections in the Davao region.
Dela Rey said for the PNP, PRO 11 will be deploying 7,580 police personnel to be deployed in the 2,936 polling centers.
“Meron kaming standby forces sa regional and provincial headquarters just in case needed ang additional sa mga na deploy na,” she added.
Dela Rey assured that PRO 11 does not receive any direct threats in the Davao Region for the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, DepEd 11 spokesperson Jenielito “Dodong” Atillo said that the DepEd 11 and the teachers are equipped and ready for the coming polls.
“The DepEd and the teachers are now ready. We would like to thank the Comelec for arming them with all the necessary ammunitions with respect to how to run the elections come May 12. Handa na po kami all over Region 11 and we’re just waiting for the day to come,” he said.
Atillo bared that a total of 12,411 teachers will be deployed. Of this number, 11,132 will serve as members of the electoral board, 1,136 as DepEd supervisor officials, and 143 as members of the board of canvassers.
He added that DepEd 11 will be manning at least 22,378 precincts all over the region and 4,189 clustered precincts 4,189.
“Ready na po lahat yan. Yung ating mga schools that will be utilized are ready already since day one, ginalinisan na, security is ensured through the security forces in the schools. We submit everything to the Comelec and the PNP,” he said.
