Vice President Sara Duterte visited a photo exhibit dedicated to her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, on Thursday, May 29.
The exhibit was located at Laan Van Reagan en Gorbatsjov Street in The Hague, according to her office.
The vice president was seen looking and reading through the exhibit bearing texts and photos of the patriarch Duterte.
She also posed beside one of the boards showing a photo of the older Duterte with a bold quote in uppercase letters saying: “I am the president. Of course I have the powers. But this country, in my time, will not deteriorate any further”.
The younger Duterte is in The Netherlands to celebrate her birthday on May 31st with her father detained at the International Criminal Court detention center over his alleged crimes against humanity during his administration’s bloody drug war.
Duterte was arrested on March 11 and whisked away the same day to the Netherlands-based tribunal to face charges tied to his drug war, in which thousands of mostly poor men were killed.
He is currently in a detention center in The Hague, awaiting a confirmation of charges hearing on September 23, where he will have the opportunity to contest the accusations against him.
