The Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing Program (ROCBDC) declared Barangay 25-C and Barangay San Isidro of Davao City, and Barangay Cadunan of Mabini, Davao de Oro, as drug-cleared barangays effective Thursday.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Davao (PDEA-11) Director Edgar Jubay said the declaration followed the satisfactory compliance of the concerned barangays with the documentary requirements under Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 4, Series of 2021.
PDEA 11 reported that to date, a total of 34 barangays in Davao Region have been issued resolutions confirming the absence of drug personalities.
It also stated that 19 have been verified as drug-free barangays, while 638 barangays have maintained their drug-cleared status.
The committee is composed of representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government 11 (DILG 11), Department of Health 11 (DOH 11), Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11), and representatives from the local government units (LGUs) of Davao City and Mabini, Davao de Oro.
Present during the deliberation held at the Davao City Anti-Drug Abuse Council Conference Room were the respective chiefs of police, Anti-Drug Abuse Council members, and key stakeholders from the concerned barangays.
Meanwhile, PDEA 11 bared that educating students in private and public schools in Davao City on the ill-effects of illegal drugs as part of the strengthened Anti-Drug Abuse Advocacy Campaign Program is among its priorities.
PDEA 11 reported that from January to June 2025, it had already conducted information and education campaigns in 214 schools in Davao City.
