A total of 9,000 hotel rooms are available and ready to welcome tourists and visitors for the Kadayawan 2025 next month.
“In terms of hotel rooms, we have more than enough. Kami sa private sector, we have been ready since way back,” according to Gene Bangayan, co-chair of the MICE Board on Thursday.
Bangayan said the hotel sector also participated in seminars organized by Davao Tourism Association (DATA) to improve its services.
“Para maging world-class tayo, and we are aiming for that, and we hope we can achieve that,” she said.
Davao Tourism Association (DATA) President Nicole Hao Bian-Ledesma said several hotels and restaurants in Davao City are already accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and have certification from the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) to ensure they have the required standards for tourists to experience.
Besides the Kadayawan festival, Ledesma said that tourists and visitors can now experience Davao City through the Palengke Tour, and the Chocolate, Coffee, and Cacao Tours.
“The tourism sector has been preparing for Kadayawan even at the very start of the year. Because we all know this is the biggest festival. The hotels have been releasing their different promos so that tourists would be attracted to attend the festival. The travel and tours sector also came up with new tourism products or new tours that we can offer to our guests,” Ledesma said.
Ledesma also said that the restaurant sector has been preparing various promos and discounts to encourage the Dabawenyos to go out, eat out, and experience local food during Kadayawan.
She said through the “Kaon Ta ‘Bay” discount card, tourists and the Dabawenyos can avail discounts from 40 restaurants.
“In particular, the Davao Tourism Association is coming out with a food discount card wherein 40 restaurants in Davao City have pledged to give discounts to those people who would buy the discount card,” Ledesma said.
The card will be launched soon and can be used throughout the month of August.
