Ex-wife describes FPRRD in “skin and bones” condition

The ex-wife of former President Rodrigo Duterte, Elizabeth Zimmerman, described the current condition of the former president as “skin and bones.”

Zimmerman is at The Hague, Netherlands, to watch over and monitor the former president.

Speaking to the media and supporters clustering outside the detention facility at the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Friday, Zimmerman said the former president is in good health but has lost a lot of weight.

“He is okay, but he is so thin. Skin and bones,” she said.

Zimmerman said that FPRRD is no longer taking any medication, but as an old man, he is too weak to walk.

Last month, Vice President Sara Duterte shared that FPRRD drastically lost weight when she visited him.

“Well, you haven’t seen him this thin before. I don’t think he’s ever been this thin since maybe before his marriage. So, he’s thick, thin because of the lack of appetite and because of the weather, which is very cold for him. He’s not used to the cold. And I think it’s the way that they cook the food. It’s not traditional Filipino food. But I’m happy that he gets rice every day. But yes, he’s given milk as well if he doesn’t have the appetite to eat,” the vice president said.

Meanwhile, Zimmerman informed that the former president is whiling time away watching television inside the detention facility.

Zimmerman also delivered FPRRD’s message to his supporters, who continue clustering outside the detention facility.

“He said you go home. Thank you for your support. I am okay,” the former president’s message relayed by Zimmerman.

He is happy, but he does not want to be a bother,” she said.
