Pulong out, Mama Beth in as watch rotation continues for Duterte family

The Duterte family shakes up its family duties at The Hague as Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte prepares to return home and his mother Elizabeth Zimmerman and a nephew takes over the shift.
After spending several weeks in The Hague, Netherlands, visiting the former president, Rep. Duterte announced on Wednesday that he is set to return to the Philippines.

Taking his place is his mother, who will remain in The Hague to look after Duterte. She will be joined by Sharkey, daughter of Vice President Sara Duterte.

Rep. Duterte revealed that his mother, ex-wife of former President Rodrigo Duterte, has offered her home to the former president so she can personally monitor his medications if he’s released from the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention facility.
Duterte said in jest.

Rep. Duterte also shared that the family is no longer discussing the potential sale of his father’s residence in Doña Luisa Subdivision, Matina, Davao City.

Last week, a “for sale” sign was placed on the gate of the residence shared by the former president and his common-law wife, Honeylet Avanceña.

Avanceña confirmed to DZRH News that the house was being sold, citing emotional and security reasons.

However, the sign was removed the following day.

Rep. Duterte noted that his father firmly rejected plans to sell the property. The former president reportedly explained that the residence holds deep sentimental value—being the first home he purchased with his own money—a milestone he isn’t willing to part with, even while detained at the ICC.
