Security, safety forces told to exercise maximum tolerance during Kadayawan

The city government of Davao and the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) hold a ceremonial send-off for the security and safety cluster in preparation for the 2025 Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival at Camp Capt. Domingo Leonor (DCPO) parade ground on San Pedro Street in Davao City on Wednesday.

A total of 19,085 security personnel composed of the integrated security forces that include personnel from DCPO, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO), City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Civil Security Unit (CSU), National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) will be deployed during the during of the Kadayawan celebration.

In his message read by Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) head Angel Sumagaysay, acting Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte emphasized the shared commitment to building a resilient and secure Davao City through the cooperation and coordination of the security and safety cluster to ensure this year’s festivities remain peaceful, organized, and inclusive for everyone.

“As you are deployed to your respective posts, we encourage you to always exercise maximum tolerance, uphold the highest standards of professionalism, and embody the values of service and integrity,” the acting mayor said.

The acting mayor added that through coordinated efforts and steadfast commitment to the mandate of ensuring the safety and security of the communities, the city is expecting an overall success of this year’s festivity.

Meanwhile, DCPO acting City Director Col. Mannan Muarip is expecting that DCPO personnel will dedicate their time to their assigned tasks throughout the festivity.

“Ang expectation natin dapat yung personnel particularly nung DCPO should be dedicated sa kanilang small task, either nandoon sila sa Personnel Screening Area (PSA) or nandoon sila sa control point dapat istrikto sila kung ano yung nakaatang na task nila sa araw na yun mula ngayon hanggang doon sa August 31,” he said in an interview.

The Kadayawan 2025 will kick off with a “Misa Pasasalamat” at the San Pedro Cathedral on Thursday.
