No exclusive providers for AICS, AKAP aid: DSWD 11

The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Davao Region (DSWD-11) reiterated its directive from the Central Office that the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) and Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) remain open to all qualified service providers under an “open market policy.”

The policy encourages the participation of all eligible service providers who accept guarantee letters (GLs), without granting exclusivity to any single provider.

“This means no special preference will be given to any service provider. Any provider who meets the requirements and accepts guarantee letters can join,” DSWD-11 Regional Director Rhuelo Aradanas said in a Facebook post Friday.

He said DSWD-11 is committed to an open market approach, which allows all qualified providers to participate in delivering aid to those in need.

“This ensures that assistance under AICS and AKAP reaches more families quickly and fairly, with no favoritism or exclusive control,” Aradanas said.

He said both programs are designed to support individuals in crisis and low-income families, which is why the agency welcomes all qualified providers to help deliver services. (With reports from Che Palicte/PNA)
