The City Government of Davao, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) on Thursday, extended shelter cash assistance to families and individuals affected by the September 8, 2025 fire incident in Barangay 23-C.
CSWDO City Poblacion B District Head Gina Molon told Madayaw that a total of 83 house owners with totally damaged houses received Php 20,000 each, eight house owners with partially damaged houses received Php15,000 each, 68 sharers and 62 renters received Php10,000 each and a total of 21 boarders received Php 5,000 each.
“Naa ta’y 241 beneficiaries, tanan ni sila makadawat (We have 241 beneficiaries, all of them will receive the assistance),” she said.
Molon said they were hopeful the assistance will help augment the financial needs of the affected residents as they rebuild their homes.
The families and individuals were also able to get kitchen kits and sleeping kits immediately after the fire incident.
Molon also took the opportunity to remind recipients of the assistance to continue to be watchful and avoid massive fire incidents in the future, underscoring that it is not only for their benefit but the community as well. CIO
