
Seven people were confirmed dead and 11 others injured following two powerful earthquakes that struck Davao Oriental and nearby provinces on Friday, October 10, 2025.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) report released Saturday, all fatalities were recorded in the Davao Region.
NDRRMC added that the twin quakes — a magnitude 7.4 in the morning and a magnitude 6.8 later that evening — also displaced thousands of residents.
NDRRMC reported that at least 3,519 families, or 8,436 individuals, from Davao Region and Caraga Region have been affected, with 2,468 families (7,915 individuals) currently staying in evacuation centers.
The agency also reported 28 damaged houses, five of which were totally destroyed.
