An alleged big-time drug pusher was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11 (PDEA 11), in coordination with Baliok Police Station, along Farland Extension, Dumoy, Davao City, on Monday.
The suspect, identified only as alias “Warlito,” 53, was caught after selling a medium-sized heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected illegal drugs worth P7,000 to an undercover PDEA agent who posed as poseur-buyer.
Authorities confiscated from the suspect 15 sachets of suspected shabu, weighing around 520 grams, with an estimated street value of P3,536,000.
Also recovered were the marked buy-bust money used in the operation.
PDEA 11 Regional Director Edgar T. Jubay commended the team’s efforts, noting that the arrest forms part of the agency’s intensified campaign to dismantle major drug networks operating in the Davao region.
The suspect is now in the custody PDEA 11 and will be charged with violations of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, PDEA 11 – Davao Oriental Provincial Office dismantled an alleged drug den along Andravel Street, Barangay Central, Mati City over the weekend.
The operation, carried out in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Unit 11, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office, and Mati City Police Station, resulted in the arrest of three suspects identified by their aliases as “Dak-Dak,” a government employee and alleged co-maintainer of the drug den; “Jen-Jen,” reportedly working at the site; and “Bembol,” who was visiting the area during the operation.
PDEA 11 stated that two others, including the alleged maintainer and main target identified as “Donde” and his associate “Tan-Tan,” managed to evade arrest.
Authorities seized six heat-sealed plastic sachets of containing suspected shabu weighing about 21 grams with an estimated street value of P252,000, assorted drug paraphernalia, a .45-caliber magazine with live ammunition, and the marked buy-bust money.
PDEA 11 said the arrested suspects are now facing charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
