The City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) has deployed 737 personnel across 23 public and private cemeteries in Davao City to manage the flow of vehicles and ensure smooth traffic operations during the observance of Undas.
CTTMO Head Dionisio Abude said that the traffic rerouting plan to be implemented on November 1 and 2 follows the same system used in previous years, with minor adjustments in areas where heavy traffic buildup is expected.
“Ang atong gi-implementar na traffic plan is wala man ni siya mabag-o, pipila na katuig, magsugod kini sa petsa November 1 and 2. But naa tay gibantayan dinhi sa Davao Memorial Park kay naa ta’y alternate na plano dinha. Naa ta’y ipatuman pud dinha nga traffic plan,” Abude said over Madayaw Davao.
Abude explained that for the San Pedro Memorial Park and Wireless Cemetery, a one-way traffic scheme will be enforced — from the corner of F. Torres Street and Father Selga Street up to the Circumferential Road on Jade Street. Meanwhile, the DMSF-Circumferential area will be closed to trucks and buses.
He said that motorists heading to Forest Lake Cemetery and San Pedro Memorial Park may use Jade and Turquoise Streets, while those bound for Forest Lake can also pass through San Rafael Street via Gold, Silver, and Copper Streets, which serve as the entry and exit routes.
At the Catholic Cemetery, Abude said only one-way traffic will be allowed as part of the city’s regulated entry system to ease vehicle movement in adjoining cemeteries.
Abude also assured that CTTMO enforcers will be on-site to assist motorists and maintain orderly traffic throughout the four-day Undas period.
He added that the traffic plan aims to ensure that motorists can visit their loved ones safely and conveniently.
Abude asked for Dabawenyos’ cooperation to make the observance peaceful and organized.
