Davao Light and Power Company has announced that the residential electricity rate for the November 11 to December 10 billing period is P10.0612 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), marking an increase of P0.9080/kWh from October’s P9.1532/kWh.
According to Davao Light, the adjustment is largely driven by higher pass-through charges, particularly in generation and transmission costs. The utility explained that generation charges climbed due to increased power supply prices from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM), while transmission charges rose following adjustments made by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP). These charges are forwarded directly to power suppliers and the transmission operator.
The power utility company noted the implementation of the Energy Regulatory Commission–approved Feed-In Tariff Allowance (FIT-All) of P0.2073/kWh, up from P0.1189/kWh, beginning November 2025. This nationwide uniform charge remitted by Davao Light to the National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) supports renewable energy development.
Davao Light also stated that another factor is the reapplication of the Universal Charge–Environmental Charge (UC-EC) at P0.0025/kWh, which the ERC recently ordered utilities to resume collecting.
“The amount is remitted to PSALM to fund environmental rehabilitation and watershed management initiatives tied to power generation,” it said.
Davao Light emphasized that generation, transmission, and government charges are all pass-through costs, collected on behalf of other industry players. Its distribution charge, which goes directly to the utility, has remained unchanged since its approval in 2013.
With the holiday season approaching, Davao Light encourages customers to practice efficient electricity use to better manage their household consumption.
