The 21st City Council on Tuesday approved the release of P4 million in financial assistance to four provinces placed under state of calamity following the onslaught of Typhoon Uwan.
Acting under suspended rules, the council passed four separate ordinances authorizing the city mayor to utilize a portion of the 30 percent Quick Response Fund (QRF) from the City Government’s 2025 Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (DRRMF).
Under the ordinances, the provinces of Kalinga, Pangasinan, Northern Samar, and Albay will each receive P1 million in assistance.
Earlier this month, the council also approved P5.9 million in aid for areas affected by Typhoon Tino, which severely impacted one province, five cities, and eight municipalities.
