Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, the youngest daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, admitted that attacks from critics against her family, particularly her father, have continued, but said she has chosen to no longer pay attention to them.
The young Duterte said her sister, Vice President Sara Duterte, remains the biggest threat to her political opponents because of the strong support she enjoys from the public.
“Whether they admit it or not, she’s the biggest threat to them not in a bad way but because she has connected with the people, and because the public knows that she’s genuine and that she really has the heart to serve,” Kitty told the media.
Her remarks came amid ongoing political criticism directed at the vice president.
Meanwhile, according to the latest PAHAYAG survey conducted by Publicus Asia, Inc., the vice president continues to rank as the country’s “Most Trusted” national leader, posting a 31 percent trust rating and a 34 percent approval rating.
The same survey showed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. with a 15 percent trust rating and a 21 percent approval rating, significantly lower than those of the vice president.
