Two alleged high-value target (HVT) drug personalities were arrested in a joint anti-drug operation that led to the confiscation of more than P500,000 worth of illegal drugs on Monday.
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11 (PDEA 11) Regional Special Enforcement Team–Davao City Office and Seaport Interdiction Unit–Toril, with support from the City Mobile Force Company of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), conducted the operation in Dakudao Compound, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Lanang in Davao City.
PDEA 11 identified the arrested suspect as alias Ric, 44, a resident of the area, after selling a vape containing suspected marijuana oil worth P4,000 to an undercover PDEA operative.
His alleged cohort, alias Jack, was also arrested during the sting.
Authorities seized five vapes containing suspected marijuana oil; nine vacuum-sealed sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing about 455 grams; one additional sachet of dried marijuana; six sachets of suspected illegal drugs weighing roughly 70 grams; drug paraphernalia; marked buy-bust money; an M4 carbine rifle; a 9mm Luger pistol; and several rounds of ammunition.
PDEA 11 reported that the total estimated value of the confiscated drugs is P554,600.
Both suspects will face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, the law regulating firearms and ammunition.
