Vice President Sara Duterte, along with 15 officials of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), is facing multiple complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman over the alleged misuse of P612.5 million in confidential funds.

Filed on Friday, the complaints include plunder, malversation, bribery, and violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

Civil society advocates and church leaders, including former Finance Undersecretary Cielo Magno, 2025 Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Fr. Flavie Villanueva, and Fr. Robert Reyes, spearheaded the filings.

The complainants alleged irregularities in the liquidation of the confidential funds, citing the use of fabricated acknowledgment receipts bearing fictitious names such as “Mary Grace Piattos,” “Nova,” and “Oishi.”

They accused Duterte of deliberately bypassing oversight mechanisms, claiming the actions amounted to systematic misuse of public funds and abuse of authority.

“The filing seeks accountability and transparency in the use of taxpayer money,” the complainants said.

As of press time, Duterte has not issued any comment on the matter.
