Nearly 160,000 Dabawenyos benefited from the Lingap Para sa Mahirap Program in 2025, a flagship initiative of the City Mayor’s Office.
Geraldine Reyes, social worker for the program, reported that a total of 159,241 clients were served last year, with medicine assistance accounting for the largest share.
She said the main and satellite offices assisted 118,009 clients through public services and 41,232 clients through private transactions.
“Sa public assistance ang pinakadako dira is ang medicine, for the whole year 2025 sa public assistance ka-cater ta og 101,977 sa medicine lang na siya. Ingon ana ang main nga ginaduol diri sa amoa is maintenance gyud, mga tambal pud nga mga para sa animal bite, mao gyud na kasagran ang everyday nga lain-lain nga client nga gina cater,” Reyes said over Madayaw Davao.
She reminded clients that starting 2026, all prescriptions and supporting documents must be dated 2026 and that the process remains the same.
She said once the prescription is updated to 2026, it will be priced at the three accredited pharmacies namely Botika Murang Gamot, New Botika Concepcion, and Kalingap Pharmacy.
“Kay 2026 naman ta karon, dili nami mag-cater og 2025 documents, for example ilahang reseta, kung wala sila ka process sa December karon silang January 2026 nag-process. Gina-inform namo sila nga pabag-ohon ang reseta. Same process lang gihapon once naa na ang reseta 2026 pa-presyohan sa atong tulo ka accredited Botika- Murang Gamot, New Botika Concepcion, and Kalingap Pharmacy,” she explained.
Reyes added that prescriptions from private clinics or hospitals can also be submitted to the nearest City Health Office branch for verification and conversion.
“Ang amoa lang na matama ang requirements para dili magbalik-balik ang atong clients,” she said.
The main requirements for Lingap assistance remain a valid ID and proof of Davao City residency.
