The Philippine Air Force (PAF), through its Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao, successfully airlifted a survivor of the capsized recreational vessel MBCA Amejara from Balut Island to Davao City on Wednesday.

The medical evacuation was conducted in close coordination with the Office of the Civil Defense 11, the Eastern Mindanao Command, and the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao.

The rescued crew member was transported aboard a Black Hawk S-70i helicopter to Davao Air Station, ensuring the swift and safe transfer of the survivor.

Upon arrival, the patient was personally received and assisted by Wing Commander Brig. Gen. Romeo Jerome M. Dirilo before being immediately brought to Camp Panacan Hospital for further medical assessment and treatment.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard, together with partner agencies, continues intensive search and rescue operations for the missing MBCA Amejara.

Operations cover the waters from Barangay Laker, Sarangani, to Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.

The PAF, meantime, said it affirms its unwavering commitment to strengthening air capabilities in support of national security, disaster response, and humanitarian and rescue missions.
