DCCCII, MinDA, 2GO bolster Mindanao logistics to drive regional growth

The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) led efforts to strengthen logistics partnerships in Southern Mindanao, convened industry leaders and stakeholders alongside the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) and 2GO Group Inc. on Thursday to advance regional economic growth.

The business forum, titled “Advancing Mindanao’s Inclusive Growth through Stronger Partnerships and Sustainable Economic Progress,” held in Park Inn by Radisson Davao gathered representatives from government, business chambers, and key industries to tackle regional priorities, logistics challenges, and opportunities to improve supply chain connectivity.

Participants came from agribusiness, export, manufacturing, and logistics sectors, as well as regional government offices industries seen to benefit from a more integrated and efficient logistics ecosystem supporting continued growth in Davao and across Mindanao.

DCCCII underscored the importance of closer collaboration between the private sector and institutions such as MinDA and industry partners to strengthen infrastructure, improve market access, and promote inclusive economic development.

“Strong collaboration between the public and private sectors was essential to sustaining the growth of businesses in Davao and across Mindanao,” said DCCCII President Dr. Mirasol Tiu.

She emphasized that improving logistics connectivity would enable local enterprises—from exporters and manufacturers to small businesses to expand their reach, compete more effectively, and contribute to inclusive economic progress.

MinDA Secretary Leo Tereso Magno said the collaboration marked an opportunity to address logistical gaps, scale up local industries, and create an environment where Mindanao-based businesses could thrive in both domestic and international markets.

For its part, 2GO highlighted the role of efficient logistics in linking producers to markets and supporting industry growth.

“Efficient logistics played a critical role in connecting producers to markets and enabling industries to grow,” said Sharon Musngi-Ngo, Business Unit Head of 2GO Sea Solutions.

She also noted that stronger supply chain connectivity and collaboration with stakeholders aimed to help enterprises expand across the Philippines and beyond.

2GO reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships in the region, recognizing Mindanao as a key driver of future economic growth.

The company said it would continue working with DCCCII and MinDA to improve logistics connectivity, expand market access, and support the region’s integration into national and regional supply chains.

The logistics firm maintained operations in key Mindanao ports, including Butuan (via Nasipit), Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Zamboanga, Dipolog (via Dapitan), Ozamiz, Davao, and Siargao, supporting inter-island cargo and passenger movement.

It also continued to enhance multimodal connectivity through its Manila-Davao passenger vessel route, reinforcing Davao’s role as a logistics hub in the south.
