Over 10,000 rooms ready for Duaw Davao Festival

Davao City’s tourism sector said it is fully prepared to accommodate the influx of visitors for the upcoming Duaw Davao Festival, citing a wide range of available accommodations across the city.

Nicole Bian Ledesma, President of the Davao Tourism Association (DATA), assured the industry’s readiness, highlighting that the city currently features a robust baseline of accommodation options.

“All the tourism industry of Davao has always been very prepared to accept tourists
As of late, I think we have about 10,000 to 11,000 room keys, and that is just from the accredited establishments,” Ledesma said during the launch of Duaw Davao 2026.

Ledesma added that the city’s total lodging capacity is even higher when factoring in alternative accommodations.

“Aside from that, we also know that there are self-styled accommodations, those that are renting out their condominiums, their apartments, so that also provides another accommodation option for our travelers,” she explained.

A major highlight of this year’s festival is the Duaw Davao Big Big Sale, a sector-wide initiative designed to boost tourism and offer massive value to both visitors and residents.

The private sector expressed deep appreciation for the city government’s promotional backing, which elevates local businesses onto a much larger stage.

“The private sector are really very thankful for the opportunity that the city is giving us, wherein we can further promote our hotels, restaurants, travel and tours, transportation, even spas and wellness activities by giving out promos and discounts, which will be promoted in a bigger platform because again, it’s the city who’s supporting this initiative,” Ledesma said.

Ledesma said the special discounts and promotional deals are structured to benefit everyone, encouraging locals to engage in staycations and explore their own city.

“We’re very excited for the Duaw Davao Big Big Sale wherein the hotels and restaurants and other partners in tourism sector will be giving out special discounts and promos that will invite not just tourists, but locals alike to rediscover what Davao has to offer,” she added.
