The United States Embassy in the Philippines is bringing the 11th EducationUSA University Fair to Davao City for the first time. It will be held at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) Social Hall on May 23.
In an email sent by the Information Office of the U.S. Embassy Manila to Edge Davao, the embassy announced that the fair aims to give students in Davao City and Mindanao greater access to American higher education opportunities.
U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Y. Robert Ewing said this year’s University Fair will feature several American colleges and universities that are visiting the Philippines for the first time.
“This year’s University Fair features several American colleges and universities that are visiting the Philippines for the first time and eager to meet with Filipino students. We are also thrilled to bring it to Mindanao for the first time, opening access for more Filipinos to experience American excellence in education and strengthen ties that make both our nations safer, stronger, and more prosperous,” he said.
According to the U.S. Embassy Manila, the Davao City leg of the fair will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in partnership with the city government of Davao.
The participating institutions and organizations in the Davao City fair include College of Central Florida, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, Lewis University, Manhattan University, Middle Tennessee State University, Rice University, Saint Louis University, The University of Akron, Trine University, British Council (IELTS), College Board (SAT), and Pearson.
According to the Information Office, the fair is free and open to all students, parents, and educators interested in study opportunities in the United States.
“Admission to the University Fair is free and open to all students, parents, and educators interested in study abroad opportunities in the United States,” the Information Office said.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register online through EducationUSA Philippines Fair Registration.
EducationUSA serves as the U.S. government’s official source of information on American higher education and offers free advising services to Filipino students through the U.S. Embassy in Manila and the Philippine-American Educational Foundation or Fulbright Philippines.
The program highlights nearly 4,000 accredited colleges and universities across the United States, offering diverse academic programs, research opportunities, and flexible pathways for international students.
