Vice President Sara Duterte said on Tuesday that she has “no feelings” regarding her impeachment case, stressing that she will leave all legal matters to her spokesperson and defense lawyers as proceedings continue in the Senate.
In an interview in The Hague, Duterte declined to directly comment on the impeachment case, saying her legal team has been designated to handle all statements.
“Sa impeachment, meron naman kaming spokesperson, may naka-assigned na na spokesperson at defense team para sa impeachment. At ‘yan ay isang legal na proseso. So, iiwan na lang natin sa spokesperson at sa mga abugado ang pagko-komento,” Duterte said.
When asked for her personal reaction, Duterte gave a brief response.
“Wala akong feelings about the impeachment,” she said.
As of May 11, 2026, the House of Representatives has formally transmitted the Articles of Impeachment against Duterte to the Senate following a 257-25-9 vote.
The Vice President also reacted to recent developments in the Senate related to the impeachment process and broader political tensions involving state institutions.
“Well, nakakalungkot dahil nawawala ‘yung respeto ng mga ibang ahensya ng gobyerno sa independence ng ating senado. At nakakahiya dahil meron tayong mga kababayan, lalong-lalo na ang administrasyon, na hindi nakakaintindi kung anong ibig sabihin ng soberanya o sovereignty ng isang bansa,” she said.
Duterte, however, maintained that legal boundaries must be respected, particularly on enforcement issues involving foreign jurisdictions.
She also reacted to reports involving a warrant of arrest against Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
“Hindi ‘yan panawagan ng kahit sinong tao dahil ang isang warrant of arrest na hindi issued by a Philippine court cannot be implemented in Philippine soil,” she said.
She also addressed the Filipino community, calling for unity amid political tensions in the country.
“Dapat magkaisa ang ating bansa para sa katarungan sa kaayusan sa kapayapaan at sa kaunlaran so dapat iisa lang ‘yung direction natin, at dapat doon sa apat na K na ‘yun, tayo papunta kaayusan, katarungan, kapayapaan at kaunlaran,” Duterte said.
